Navi Mumbai: Twenty-eight students of Bhonsala Military School in Nashik were admitted to a government hospital in Raigad on Wednesday morning after they complained of stomach ache, reports Umesh K Parida. They had consumed energy drinks the previous day, which doctors said are not allowed for consumption by children and pregnant women.
Dr Sandip Wagatkar, medical officer at the rural hospital in Poladpur, confirmed that the children had consumed energy drinks available on the trek route. “Ten of the 28 students had vomiting and loose motions,” he said.
The class 7 students were part of a group of 103, including 93 children and 10 teachers, who had gone on an excursion to three forts from Monday to Wednesday.
