An X (formerly known as Twitter) user, @aaraynsh, shared his experience and expressed his concerns about the situation at the educational facility. Following online criticism from several users, the institution took note of the issue and issued a letter informing the mess supplier that one day’s payment would be withheld as retribution. 2. IIT Kharagpur Mess Food In 2019, the student body of IIT Kharagpur took to X and shared horrifying details of the food served at their hostel mess. The tweet stated that unhygienic food is served at their hostel. In fact, they have found worms and flies repeatedly in mess food and no solid action was taken even after reporting several times. 3. MIT ADT Students Fall Sick In 2022, after consuming meals and ingesting contaminated water from the hostel mess, approximately 30 students from MIT ADT University allegedly had food poisoning symptoms, including diarrhoea and vomiting. Students at the institute complained about the water about one to two weeks ago, and they were told that there was a problem with the water line and the water filter. 4. AIIMS Delhi Fail Hygiene Inspection Residents at AIIMS reported that the ground-floor mess in hostel number eight served food that was pest and fungus-infested, had stale ingredients, and had no hygiene standards. On September 8, 2022, the institute’s internal food safety and hygiene committee conducted an inspection and discovered these flaws. The examination revealed that the dairy items were used after their expiration date, the dough for making rotis and pooris had been used for days, and the preparation spaces were unclean. 5. IIM Kozhikode Lack Food Hygiene In July 2023, the Indian Institute of Management – Kozhikode (IIM-K) came under fire from its students. They contend that the institute’s conditions have gotten worse recently and that insects and a lack of hygiene are frequently found on food items. Students allege they have complained to the authorities about the IIM-K mess’s bland food and scary insect photos, which have been viewed and verified by The Free Press Journal. 6. OP Jindal Global University In Haryana A video of a canteen employee participating in a horrifying practice had gone viral online. The guy was seen using his feet to crush the veggies while seated inside a big container in the popular video. The food in the container, which looked like a gravy, is either being made or going through a thorough cleaning.
