The Rules have been drawn up to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards in restaurants. There is a system in place to check whether the food safety standards are being followed by the law or not. As a part of this, a team of FSSAI visited the city recently. It was found that many restaurants were violating the rules. Some food vendors were duly permitted. They were selling with gloves and a cap on their heads. However, the audit revealed that many food vendors were found to be unhygienic.
FSSAI appointed an agency consisting of experts to carry out the inspection. only those who fulfill the criteria will be given the certificate of cleanliness. The campaign itself has been undertaken in the name of ‘Eat Right Challenge’. FDA said that this certificate is given for two years.
