Ahmedabad: Four factories in Unjha that were producing adulterated cumin and fennel seeds on a large scale were raided by the Gujarat Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA) on Thursday. The FDCA’s action led to the seizure of a significant amount of adulterated spices, totalling 12,300kg, with an estimated market value of Rs 9.39 lakh.
During the raids, the teams found 20kg of inedible green colour along with large quantities of mixed powder, molasses, and fennel husk suspected to be used as adulterants, stated an FDCA release.
