He was speaking while presiding over a meeting on the implemention Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA), 2006 at his office. Officials from the food and civil supplies, health, legal metrology departments have been directed to conduct surprise raids on receiving such complaints.
Officials must also check and book cases against those hoteliers, bakery shops, and street vendors using harmful colours to prepare varieties of sweets and other dishes and prepare them in unhygienic conditions, he said.
