Dumka: Shopkeepers selling adulterated food items do not desist from playing with the lives of people to earn their income. Especially before festivals like Holi, Deepawali, Durga Puja, the game of adulteration increases significantly. Something similar has been seen in Dumka. When before Holi, the administration raided the city's main food market Tin Bazar and recovered a huge quantity of fake paneer, fake ghee and fake khowa. Food safety officer took action Holi is considered to be a festival of colors as well as dishes. People make good dishes and eat it and for this, they also buy paneer, ghee and khowa from the market. Dumka's Food Safety Officer Amit Kumar Ram conducted an inspection drive to ensure that people get better quality food. They raided several shops in Teen Bazar, Dumka's main food market. A huge quantity of fake paneer, fake khowa and fake ghee were recovered in this raid. When they were examined on the spot, it was found that there is not only a trace of milk in the paneer but it has been made by mixing flour, arrowroot and some harmful chemicals. All these items were immediately seized. This action of the Food Safety Department caused a stir in the market and many people fled leaving their shop. The goods of those shops were also seized.
