In these testing centers, 10 pathogenic i.e. disease-causing microorganisms will be tested whether these pathogenic food products are present or not. Many foods are contaminated due to E. coli, salmonella and Lischeria bacteria, which can cause food poisoning and can also kill a person.
According to a report in the
Indian Express, an FSSIA official said that this lab will detect whether there is a microbe that causes disease in any food item or not. In fact, diarrhoea and food poisoning have become so common that people no longer complain about such incidents, said another official. But the truth is that these diseases are caused by eating infected food but they do not even know. But FSSAI has a duty to ensure access to safe and safe food to people. These labs will test similar food and protect people from getting disease. He said that the department will regularly monitor the food and take strict action against those selling infected food.
According to data from
the National Center for Disease Control, which investigates hundreds of diseases, cases of severe diarrhoea and food poisoning are becoming common in the country. In the last four years, 1,100 severe diarrhoeal outbreaks have been reported in the country, while 550 outbreaks of food poisoning have taken place. At present, there is no such lab in the country where food can be tested to find out whether the food is infected or not. There are 79 state food testing labs in the country but they do not have machines to detect microorganisms. In these centers, only how much protein and carbohydrate is in a food is checked.
