“Most chemical seed treatments have their drawbacks — they release toxins into the environment and remain in the foods we eat,” explains Shikhadri Mahanta, a researcher at the University of Texas Department of Biological Sciences and Agricultural Engineering. Her scientific roots go back to the National Milk Research Institute of India. Her career has been dedicated to developing sustainable solutions for agriculture. Prior to joining Papa A&M, she honed her skills as a researcher in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Purdue University.
