During the inspection, 90 shops were shut down for not complying with the food safety quality standards. Rectification notices were issued to 315 establishments and compound notices to 262 establishments. 22 improvement notices were also issued during the two-day inspections. Adjudication proceedings have also been initiated against seven establishments. As part of Operation Monsoon, inspections will be conducted in hotels, restaurants and all other establishments working in food manufacturing and distribution. Strict action will be taken if shops are found to be running untidy during monsoons.
