Thiruvananthapuram: In yet another case of alleged food poisoning in the district, a 21-year-old female degree student died while being under treatment at the medical college hospital with vomiting and diarrhoea on Saturday night.
Police said the exact cause of death can be confirmed only after getting a chemical analysis report. “The father and mother of the deceased are doctors and they told me that the death was due to food poisoning.
But it is yet to be ascertained from where the deceased had food and what she had,” said Kinavoor ward councillor Surakumari R.
The deceased has been identified by police as Aiswarya (21). The body has been sent to relatives after post-mortem. Mannanthala police have registered a case over under Section 174 of CrPC for unnatural death.
The food safety officers said that they would visit Aishwarya’s house on Monday to collect more details about the food she had and the place from where she had it. Aishwarya was the youngest among the two daughters of the couple. The elder daughter is an MBBS student.
