Welcome to Safe Food Mitra
According to the college administrator, G Srinivas Reddy, students were served chicken curry with rice and sambhar for dinner in their hostel mess on Sunday night. At 2.30am on Monday, the students complained of vomiting and stomach pain, to the hostel warden who then informed the college management and their parents.
Initially, the hostel staff tried to manage the situation by providing tablets to the students. However, as all the students took ill they were shifted to a private hospital for treatment. On being informed about the incident, Hanumakonda district medical and health officer, Dr TMadhan Mohan Rao along with his team rushed to the hospital and enquired about the incident and ordered the hospital management to ensure proper treatment was given to the students.
The doctors later confirmed that the students were safe. However, 12 girl students are under observation and they will be discharged after 24 hours from the hospital, said Rao.
He further added that the college mess was inspected and food samples were collected for testing. Based on the report, we will take action against college staff, said Rao.
