The data from the industry body added that the imports of soyoil in January rose 5.6 per cent to 4,44,026 tonne, marking the highest import in seven months. On the other hand, sunflower oil imports, too, rose 8.9 per cent to 2,88,284 tonne, as per the report which quoted the industry body’s data. The SEA stated that a dip in vegetable oil imports over the recent months led to the lowering of vegetable oil inventories to 2.18 million tonne at the start of February, Reuters reported.
