Food samples have started collecting. The team of the department has collected about nine samples of different types of food items besides milk, cheese and sent them to the laboratory for examination. If adulteration is found, action will be implemented against the concerned businessmen under the Food and Safety Act.
On Thursday, District Food Safety Department Commissioner LD Thakur said that the Food and Safety Department is keeping a close watch on the quality of food items in the fair events being organized in Jogindernagar subdivision and adjoining areas in the months of March and April. A team led by a food safety officer conducted raids in Jogindernagar market, Chauntra and Beed to take stock of hygiene while serving food items, while also filling about nine samples for quality testing.
Food Safety Officer Sachin said that samples have been sent to the laboratory for examination, and after the report comes, further action will be implemented. At the same time, Food Supplies Department Inspector KC Puri issued orders to fix the prices in the price lists after a surprise inspection of fruit and vegetable shops in Jogindernagar city and said that if the price is charged more than the fixed profit, they will implement necessary action on the basis of the stock of fruits and vegetables available in the shops. SDM Manish Chaudhary said that the quality of food items in the state-level Jogindernagar Devta Mela will be checked by the concerned department. Orders have also been issued to the concerned department to take action as per rules on the traders who do not put up the price list.
